Postpartum Depression - Loving Ourselves When It Is Hardest

This is a heartbreaking video to watch but postpartum depression is real and it is vital that we reduce the shame women experience when they don't feel good after giving birth. Shame keeps us from reaching out for the help we (and, by proxy, our children) desperately need. I applaud the mother in this video for seeking support. If you know someone with a new baby, find a way to make space for her negative feelings even if it scares you or makes you uncomfortable. Your courageous listening may be just the thing she needs to find some relief.

If you are a mother struggling with scary or overwhelming thoughts and/or feelings, please reach out for the help you deserve.
